As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in developing software, supporting the software development lifecycle, and enhancing the data processing platform and its associated applications.
You thrive on achieving results, not just for yourself but for your team as well. With a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including its phases, roles, and tools, you bring experience with Agile project management methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean.
You are an excellent communicator, equally skilled as a team player and independent contributor. You adhere to agreed principles while maintaining pragmatism when necessary. Problem-solving comes naturally to you, and you actively seek to stay current with industry trends and technological developments. You mentor developers and foster team growth through knowledge sharing and guidance.
Your responsibilities include technical leadership at all stages of software development. You oversee the creation of software-intensive systems from design to production, applying appropriate methodologies, tools, and techniques. You ensure agreed-upon development and security standards are met and contribute to defining policies and guidelines for software development.
As an expert Enterprise Java Developer, you possess advanced knowledge in Java development, network design, and application security. You are proficient in technologies such as REST, SOAP, Microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and frameworks like Angular. You are experienced with tools like Git, Docker, and OpenShift and understand the infrastructure, including VMware and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
With over 10 years of experience, you excel in translating business and functional requirements into technical solutions. You have led technical environments, coached developers, and ensured the professionalization of development practices. Your technical expertise is supported by your ability to deliver high-quality software and maintain existing applications, addressing incidents and implementing improvements.
You have Belgian nationality and proficiency in French or Dutch, with basic knowledge of the other language and English. You hold or are willing to obtain a "Top Secret" security clearance and are committed to maintaining confidentiality. Work is on-site in Brussels, with flexible hours and a convenient location near Brussels-North Station.
