Mission Context
The CoE Data Governance focuses on complementary streams:

- Data Privacy & Ethics:
- The ‘EU General Data Protection Regulation’ (GDPR) has been implemented since 25/08/2018, enforcing new or changed requirements regarding the handling and protection of personal information.
- BNP Paribas Fortis initiated a project in 2013 to comply with these requirements, with an operational team delivering GDPR services since 2014.
Function Description
A Data Privacy & Ethics Expert is sought to:
- Deliver data privacy & ethics (DPE) services:
- Assess DPE-related risks (e.g., projects, outsourcing initiatives, existing solutions) – aka DPIA.
- Create detailed or synthetic risk reports following BNP Paribas Group standards and best practices.
- Propose and validate risk mitigation measures.
- Provide advisory and consultancy services regarding DPE to the BNPPF organization.
- Handle ‘data subject rights’ requests.
- Support potential incident management (personal data breaches).
- Deliver awareness, training, and communication support for the BNPPF organization.
- Develop and deliver data governance support:
- Establish and ensure adherence to enterprise frameworks for data policies, standards, and practices.
- Serve as a point of escalation for governance, quality, integrity, protection, and data compliance issues.
- Collaborate with business and functional leaders to improve the quality and value of core data assets.
- Provide DPE and Data Governance support for AI Regulation-related requests.
- Work within the operational team to ensure understanding of DPE requirements by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Deliver process documentation and supporting material (tools, templates, training) for DPE, Data Governance, and AI processes.
- Understand business, security, and regulatory drivers and priorities.
- Handle sensitive matters discreetly while maintaining confidentiality.

- Dutch: Native or Fluent
- French: Native or Fluent
- English: Fluent
(The candidate must be able to write documents and participate in meetings in French/Dutch and English).
Education
- At least a Master’s degree in Law or Engineering.
- Candidates with other academic backgrounds and substantial knowledge of analytics are encouraged to apply.
Certifications
- Data Protection Officer (GDPR) certification is an asset.
Travel
- Not applicable.
Required Experience / Knowledge
- Mandatory: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
Technical Experience
- Mandatory:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Preferable:
- Experience with process definition and writing (e.g., ARIS).
- Knowledge of Archer eGRC tools, Rally-Agile, and SharePoint.
Business Experience
- Mandatory:
- Risk assessment/management experience; compliance or audit experience is an asset.
- Awareness of data protection (information security) and privacy principles (GDPR).
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Preferable:
- Experience in cross-functional departments/teams.
- Solid experience in business/functional analysis within an enterprise environment.
- Change management experience.
- Experience in the banking and finance industry, preferably within BNPPF.
