About Arthur’s amazing journey as Young CHRLY 2021

My name is Arthur Magnus, I’m 25 years old and I’m from Brussels, Belgium. I joined Fujitsu in the Young Graduate Program in September 2021. I currently work as an IT Consultant in our Secure Cloud & Workplace Micro-Enterprise, where I focus on our Microsoft Azure & Power Platform offering.

Why did you apply for a graduate role at Fujitsu?

Arthur: I always wanted to work in a global tech-company to shape the world of tomorrow. Being from a generation that cares about the well-being of our planet, it is important to me to shape the world of tomorrow with sustainability in mind. Fujitsu shares this vision for the future! The graduate program at Fujitsu also has a great reputation. Next to developing my role specific training it offered me to develop skills such as self-awareness, leadership, business awareness and business knowledge, which are very important for my future career.

What does you day-to-day role look like?

Arthur: During the first six months I mainly focused on training. I had the opportunity to follow classes and obtain the necessary certificates at my own pace. Next to training I also joined some colleagues in their day-to-day activities on the job to better understand how I will apply everything I learned into practice. Now, I’m starting to be more involved in projects, which is quite exciting!

What opportunities have you been given?

Arthur: I got the opportunity to participate in Microsoft’s Azure Percept Bootcamp. During the bootcamp Microsoft introduced Azure Percept: it’s a solution that makes it easier to create end-to-end Edge AI solutions. I also got to create and present a proof of concept to the Azure Percept Team as part of a solution hack. I chose to create a next generation smart refrigerator!

In the Secure Cloud & Workplace Micro-Enterprise we’re also starting a Power Platform start-up. Low-code/No-code solutions are often referred to as the “next big thing”. So, when I heard about this, I saw an opportunity. I wanted to be part of this and I volunteered to help grow this start-up!

The most valuable lesson I learned while working at Fujitsu so far is that you don’t always have to wait for the right opportunity: you have to create it! You create your own story…

Why do you enjoy working for Fujitsu?

Arthur: As I joined Fujitsu in the middle of a worldwide pandemic the first thing that comes to my mind is the ability to work from home. Fujitsu values the well-being of their employees. By giving us the ability to work from home shows the company trusts us and helps us get a better work-life balance, which contributes greatly to our well-being.

Being in a global company I also enjoy working with and talking to colleagues from all over the globe! It’s really inspiring to see what we can achieve by all working together!

Working at Fujitsu also gives you the feeling of being a part of something bigger, we’re all moving forward to a more sustainable world. That’s the reason I joined Fujitsu in the first place!
